New York skyscraper's floors buckle

NEW YORK - The top floors of an evacuated, 53-story skyscraper were buckling Thursday afternoon, hindering efforts to rescue people missing from the World Trade Center attack.

One Liberty Plaza, which was built in 1973, is a block from complex where the twin towers had stood until they were demolished in Tuesday's suicide hijackings.

The top 10 floors of One Liberty Plaza began buckling Thursday afternoon, forcing the evacuation of some rescue workers.

A short time earlier, five firefighters had been rescued from the rubble.
